About

Hi! My name is Lucy Kalebjian, and welcome to my blog! I am a 5th-grade teacher currently serving at Dakar Academy in Dakar, Senegal. This blog is a place for me to keep anyone who is interested updated on how God is working in and through me in this part of the world.

The meaning behind the word “Teranga”

Teranga is a word from the Wolof language, which is the secondary language in Dakar. It means hospitality with great emphasis on community and respect. I chose it because I can already see how important it is in this culture, as well as the community I’m experiencing at the school!
